White Water Opens For Summer Fun
Sun, Slide & Splash at Branson's Tropical Adventure Park
Released: Branson, Mo. 5/09
Branson's Tropical Adventure Park, White Water, is now open for the season with the largest selection of rides and attractions in the Ozarks. The 12-acre park has nearly 7,000 feet of slides and more than a dozen rides and attractions, creating two million gallons of cool, water-drenched indulgence where guests can swim, surf, splash and slide.
Towering above 76 Country Blvd. is the region's largest high-speed water ride, Kalani Towers. A 7-story, 6-slide, multi-experience thrill ride, Kalani Towers has two 300-foot drop slides for freefall body sliding at speeds up to 40 mph, and four additional 312-foot slides for four-lane speed racing at speeds up to 25 miles per hour. "Kalani Towers is our biggest draw," says White Water General Manager Jackie Smith. "The drop slides are an unbelievable thrill, but even more popular are the four-lane racing slides - families love to race each other."
Additional thrill rides include Raging River Rapids, an interactive double speed-slide with a 400-foot plunge; the Bermuda Triangle, a fast-paced, enclosed slide; and the Pipeline Plunge and Ohana Falls rapid-water raft rides. Family favorites include Surfquake, a 500,000 gallon wave pool with 4-foot waves, and the Lazy River, a gently moving river for floating and soaking up the sun.
Family play areas include RainTree Island, with aqua-shooters, slides, splash geysers and a massive 700-gallon tipping bucket; Splash Island, a play area for smaller kids with shooting nozzles, spray hoses and slides, all in a shallow pool; and Little Squirts' Waterworks for toddlers, with tunnels, slides and sprays for water play without water depth. More popular than ever after the 2008 Summer Olympics, Sand Volleyball is available for games with family or friends.
Along with shaded areas, tropical landscapes and an assortment of island-themed foods, White Water offers Cool Cabanas for rent, enclosed on two sides with televisions, fans and seating for up to 8 people. White Water has been nationally recognized for its staff of award-winning certified lifeguards. Free life jackets and tubes are available.
White Water is open through September 7. For information, hours and tickets, contact 1-800-831-4FUN or www.bransonwhitewater.com.
